Dr. Achingliu Kamei
Achingliu Kamei has a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She teaches English in Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College under Delhi University. Her area of interest includes Oral Traditions, Cultural Studies, writings in English from the North Eastern India and African writing. She has done extensive research in folkloristic studies and on oral literature of the Nagas. She has a broad collection of tales from different Naga communities, documenting the “path” her forefathers have trod. Growing up in the beautiful open and vast countryside of the Naga hills, she has great respect and love for the freedom the land evokes.
When she is not writing or teaching, she is running half marathons all over the country with her husband or going on treks and hikes in the wild with him.
She lives in New Delhi, India with her husband and two daughters.
